Every September, Sitges lives through one of its most international weeks: Bears Sitges Week 2026. From 3 to 13 September, more than 8,000 bears arrive from all over the world. They fill the streets, beaches and terraces of the town.
This year, the community also celebrates its 25th anniversary. As a result, the programme includes some very special dates.
What is Bears Sitges Week?
Bears Sitges Week is one of the biggest bear events in the world. For ten days, Sitges becomes a true “Bear Village”. You’ll find bear routes through the town’s bars, themed nights at the Bear-Village and parties by the sea. There are also calmer plans, such as exhibitions and visits to the town’s museums.
When is Bears Sitges Week 2026?
Bears Sitges Week 2026 takes place from 3 to 13 September. The Bear-Village, the heart of the festival, opens from 4 to 13 September. On top of that, 4, 5 and 6 September bring an early opening, with softer music out of respect for local residents.
The moments you shouldn’t miss
- 3 September: Official opening at Hotel Calipolis and the first Bear Route through the sponsor bars.
- 4 to 6 September: Early opening of the Bear-Village, with limited sound.
- 7 September: Opening of the Bears Sitges Market and a special welcome night.
- 8 September: Excursion to Platja del Home Mort and Meet & Greet at Hotel Calipolis.
- 9 September: Bear Tea-Dance on the rooftop of Hotel MiM.
- 10 September: Bear Pool Party at a modernist villa in the hills of Sitges.
- 11 September: 25th anniversary gala dinner at Hotel Calipolis.
- 12 September: Grand final of the Mr. Bear Sitges 2026 contest.
- 13 September: Sitges Drag Brunch and closing farewell party.
Recommended beaches during Bears Sitges Week
The organisers recommend three beach spots for enjoying the atmosphere during the day:
- Bassa Rodona beach, with the Pique Nique Chillout beach bar.
- Balmins beach, next to the La Caleta beach bar.
- La Fragata beach, with the Iguana beach bar.
