From November 6th to 16th, 2025, Sitges celebrates one of its most iconic events: the Sitges Malvasia Week. It’s the perfect time to enjoy the town’s most emblematic wine and discover the Mediterranean spirit that makes Sitges so special.

What is Sitges Malvasia?

Malvasia de Sitges is a native white grape variety grown for centuries between the sea and the Garraf hills. The result is an aromatic, fresh wine with a slightly salty touch — a reflection of Sitges’ coastal terroir.
Unique to this area, it’s more than just a wine; it’s a symbol of the town’s history and identity.

A Wine That Saved a Tradition

In the 20th century, when this grape variety was on the verge of extinction, Manuel Llopis de Casades donated his vineyards to the Sant Joan Baptista Hospital with one condition: that they continue producing Malvasia.
Thanks to that legacy, the tradition lives on at the Celler del Hospital and the Centre d’Interpretació de la Malvasia (CIM) — where visitors can explore vineyards, learn about local history, and taste this unique wine.

Over ten days, Sitges becomes a hub of wine, culture, and celebration:

  • 9–11 pm: DO Penedès Route in Sitges — tasting dinner at Eurostars Sitges 5★.

Friday, November 7

  • 5:30–6:30 pm: Storytime “Raïm Regalat” — family activity at Biblioteca Roig i Raventós.

Saturday, November 8

  • 6–9 pm: Decorative Arts + Malvasia — candle-making workshop and 4-wine tasting (CIM).

Sunday, November 9

  • 11:30–1 pm (ENG) / 12–1:30 pm (CAT): “Art Between Sea and Sky” guided tasting at Museu Maricel.
  • 6:30–9 pm: Music + Malvasia — musical tasting (CIM).
  • 7:30–9 pm: DO Penedès Malvasía Tasting — 5 wines (Espai Tastavins, Barcelona).

Monday, November 10

  • 4–8 pm: Professional Malvasia Wine Fair (CIM).
  • 4:30–5:30 pm: “The Myth of Malvasia” — expert session.

Thursday, November 13

  • 6–9 pm: Literature + Malvasia — short story pairing workshop (CIM).

Friday, November 14
